Frostbolt is a cold spell that fires a slowly moving projectile with 100% chance to pierce. In Path of Exile 3.6 Synthesis, Frostbolt has Mana Cost at gem level 20 is now 25 (was 20). Now deals 9 to 13 Cold damage at gem level 1 (from 6 to 10) and 972 to 1458 Cold damage at gem level 20 (from 753 to 1129).

Freezing Pulse is a cold spell, launching a short-ranged projectile which passes through enemies with a chance of freezing them. In Path of Exile 3.6 Synthesis, Freezing Pulse has Mana Cost at gem level 1 is now 5 (was 4). Mana Cost at gem level 20 is now 21 (was 18). Now deals 8 to 12 Cold damage at gem level 1 (from 7 to 11) and 888 to 1332 Cold damage at gem level 20 (from 798 to 1197). Now has an added damage effectiveness of 150% (from 125%).

Flame Surge is a spell that deals fire damage in the narrow area of effect in front of the caster. It deals more damage against burning enemies. In Path of Exile, Flame Surge has Mana Cost at gem level 1 is now 6 (was 5). Mana Cost at gem level 20 is now 16 (was 15). Now deals 27 to 40 Fire damage at gem level 1 (from 21 to 31) and 563 to 844 Fire damage at gem level 20 (from 514 to 771). Now gains length as the gem levels, up to +9 length at gem level 2.

Essence Drain (often referred to as ED) is a spell that fires a chaos projectile that applies a damage over time debuff when it hits the enemy. The spell also regenerates a portion of the debuff damage as life. If the target dies while afflicted with both Contagion and Essence Drain, the remaining duration of both degeneration effects will be spread to nearby enemies. Blood Rage applies a buff that deals physical damage to the player over time while increasing attack speed and life leech. Killing an enemy while this buff is active refreshes the buff duration, and has a chance to grant a frenzy charge. Bladefall is a ranged spell which has a unique area of effect mechanics. Unlike other aoe skills, bf's single target damage suffers from increased aoe and benefits from less aoe because a single cast creates 5 volleys and a single target will be hit by more volleys when each of the volleys covers less area. Of course, this depends on the size of the target. The bosses tend to be big, and we can assume that they are hit by more than a single volley. This mechanic is beneficial for us as we can skip all the increased aoe passives in the tree and concentrated effect gem empowers the spell more than usual.
