PoE 3.5 Betrayal Three Best Ice Nova Builds

1. PoE 3.5 Arctic CoC Hipster Assassin Builds

This build essentially needs a decent volume of actual flask and talent controls. In case you have a mouse using a side button, at least that is how I play the build, it feels a good deal smoother. Explanation getting is because we want a dependable button to be set to Vortex so we are able to spam it though we Cyclone. For me, I have my Vortex set to my mouse 5 button that is around the side of my mouse. This makes it so I can just use my suitable click (mouse 2) to Cyclone when I can spam Vortex on the side mouse button (mouse five) with just a single hand. The other hand is utilized to press 4 flasks and my thumb presses Molten Shell.

I'd recommend you press Molten Shell as well as your flasks simply to make sure it constantly stays up. Casting it over and over could possibly be annoying, but if that may be fine with you, go for it. You pretty much just run or Leap Slam to mobs then just proceed to Cyclone and have CoC with Ice Nova do all of the operate for you personally. In the event, you use Cyclone, generally spam Vortex as it will also cast out of your further Frostbolts. In contrast to Ice Nova, Vortex consumes the Frostbolt. Do not worry about this though, mainly because we shoot adequate additional Frostbolts and with Vortex’s cooldown, there will still be enough Frostbolts for Ice Nova to cast out of. It really is seriously just rinsed and repeat. Against bosses, just preserve holding down your Cyclone and spam Vortex when performing so. Our mana sustain is unbelievable simply because of leech along with the substantial mana regeneration from our skill tree and amulet so we are able to sustain spamming Cyclone and Vortex. Even when you do not hit something, our mana regeneration is so higher that we can spam Cyclone and Vortex all we want.

Also, in your boss fights, make sure you have your flame golem summoned and pop Vaal Righteous Fire to acquire an enormous DPS improve. Our flame golem is there to pop EE which offers the enemy a further -50% to lightning and cold resistance. With that stacked on best on the Ice Nova procs, you will down bosses down in seconds even with tiny investment into the development. If you pop Vaal Righteous Fire, I would suggest you just pop your life flask to become safe since Vaal Righteous Fire sacrifices 30% of one's life and energy shield.

The develop could feel like a little much to absorb at first, but as soon as you get the spamming Vortex down with using Cyclone, it becomes fairly uncomplicated. Just make certain your flask uptime is fantastic along with your use of Molten Shell. We're able to spam Leap Slam without worrying about mana, so really feel no cost to Leap Slam your way by means of a map. I would also recommend employing Leap Slam to jump on an actual enemy so you get Fortify. You'll most of the time proc your CoC and Ice Novas too so it is possible to just Cyclone and spam Vortex from there at the same time. The gameplay is extremely smooth and also you just about let the CoC do all of the function.

Pros & Cons:
+ Solid clear speed (can easily be even faster if you use a Quicksilver flask but not needed)
+ Reliable way of leech (we run a Blasphemy+Warlord’s Mark setup, no pricey Warlord’s Mark curse on hit ring needed to budget the build)
+ STUPID DPS (the calculations get too crazy, just know that it downs bosses in seconds, AKA INSANE DPS for little investment)
+ Can be done with a lower budget if you do not include the two required items: Cospri’s Malice and Lycosidae into the budget (all other required uniques can be found for 2 chaos or less)
+ 100% hit chance alongside high critical strike chance (cold damage and critical strikes means shatter for DAYS!)
+ Can do all content in the game
+ Efficient boss killer (spin to win)
+ Does not rely on expensive gear like Warlord’s Mark on hit rings and The Pandemonius
+ Mana is never a problem/Incredible mana sustain (mana leech along with solid mana regeneration)
+ PERMANENT ONSLAUGHT!
+ Can handle any map mods (no leech, no regen and reflect maps can be easily done)
+ Acrobatics, Phase Acrobatics, block chance and Endurance charges from Warlord's Mark gives us solid defensive tools
- NOT a league starter but possible (obtaining required items earlier in the game proves difficult but you can just use a regular CoC setup without Cospri’s Malice and Lycosidae until you can afford them)
- Melee build so we need to stay close to enemies
- Cannot reach the builds full potential until you get Cospri’s Malice and Lycosidae which are nearly an exalt or more in price
- Fairly squishy because we use a lot of uniques that do not have life on them (getting a life is a bit difficult even though we have over 150% life on the tree / we will kill everything before our life starts becoming a problem though)

Skill Gems:
These are the current skill gem links that I use for my build. I list the gems in the order of priority they are in the link to know which gems to get first or to prioritize in general. This is especially important for the main CoC setup in case you only have a 4 link chest to work with or whatnot. At a minimum, you can run your CoC on a 4 link, but you are missing a ton of damage from being a 5 link or 6 links. This is why I would recommend you use a Tabula Rasa until you can 5 or 6 link your Carcass Jack or other body armor of your choice.

6 Link – Cast on Critical Strike/Cyclone – Cast on Critical Strike/Cyclone Setup
Cast On Critical Strike Support > Cyclone > Ice Nova > Increased Critical Strikes Support > Concentrated Effect Support > Hypothermia Support

3 Link – Cospri’s Malice Ice Nova – Cospri’s Malice Ice Nova Setup
Frostbolt > Ice Nova > Greater Multiple Projectiles Support

3 Link – Movement – Leap Slam/Utility Setup
Leap Slam > Faster Attacks Support > Fortify Support

4 Link – Aura/Herald – Aura/Herald/Utility Setup
Blasphemy Support > Warlord's Mark > Herald of Ice > Molten Shell

4 Link – Vortex/Arcane Surge – Vortex/Arcane Surge Setup
Vortex > Arcane Surge Support (level 7) > Concentrated Effect Support > Bonechill Support

4 Link – CWDT+Frost Bomb – Cast when Damage Taken/Utility Setup
Cast when Damage Taken Support (level 2) > Immortal Call (level 4) > Frost Bomb (level 11) > Vaal Righteous Fire

Bandits:
Save Alira’s poor soul. She gives us crit multi for more DPS which helps us and the 15% to all resistances counterbalances the Malachai’s Artifice to -5% instead of the -20% to all elemental resistances. Definitely, a must have for the build.

Ascendancy:
1st Lab: Unstable Infusion
2nd Lab: Deadly Infusion
3rd Lab: Ambush and Assassinate
4th Lab: Opportunistic

Pantheons:
Soul of Solaris as your Major God.
Since we already deal with trash and maps easily, we want our Pantheon to focus on fighting bosses better. With us taking Soul of Solaris, we get an additional 6% of physical damage reduction which can sometimes be the determining factor to your survival. The 20% chance to take 50% less area damage is also helpful. If you have the resources, capturing the other three souls brings a lot of utility and survival to the build as well. It makes fighting bosses a lot more safe with the defensive utility the captured souls bring us.

Soul of Gruthkul as your Minor God.
The more physical damage reduction we can get for our build, the better. This is important since Acrobatics cuts our armor in half. Any extra physical damage reduction we can get will benefit us. This is why we use Soul of Gurukul. For every hit we take, we get an additional 1% of physical damage reduction up to a maximum of 5%. These little damage reductions alongside our other defenses like dodge and evade gives us more survivability. The captured soul also reduces our enemies attack speed if they hit us too further increasing our survival.

2. PoE 3.5 Lewd's Cold Hard CoC Build Guide Builds

Did some tests with Arctic breath, info under Videos and Gems section.

Benefits of the CoC
- Lots of Balls
- Easy[gameplay] Breezy beautiful, Cover CoC
- Many ways to trigger CoC[Cyclone isn't the only girthy boy]
- EXPLOSIONS, teehee
- Fast Paced
- Never have to break a barrel again
- All Content Viable
- This bad boy can fit so many life gains on hit[Tank out with your CoC out]
- FPS friendly, surprisingly
- Most importantly Aesthetics

Leveling Guide:
Go BV early game till you switch to CoC. The provided PoBs will be under the assumption of you switching to CoC at lvl 38 and upon completion of the first lab.

PoB for leveling, assuming you have a Lycosidae: https://pastebin.com/giMjEPkH
There are 3 separate trees, based on what amount of points you have. You will want to grab a Mortem Morsu before you start going CoC, which is viable from lvl 38 if you wish. I would advise going CoC after your Second Lab is done. Grab Life or Crit nodes as you see yourself needing them. Start with the nodes that give Crit Chance first then get the ones that give Spell Crit, followed by Crit Multi nodes. This includes Claws of Falcon node as it gives a good chunk of Crit for you to trigger CoC.

PoB for leveling without Lycosidae: https://pastebin.com/5JErfkBC
The listed tree is split into several breakpoints based on amount of skill points available to you. Grab a Mortem Morse before switching to CoC. You should have enough accuracy up to Blood Aquaducts where you have the option to switch to an Ornament of the East claw, it provides Hits cannot be Evaded[the mod Lycosidae gives]. However, it has a lower crit chance and attack speed compared to Mortem Morse. IF you have a Tabula Rasa you can put in an Additional Accuracy Support gem and that should be enough accuracy till you can afford a Lycosidae. Once you are able to afford a 5L you will want to have Frostbolt in your CoC set-up, be sure that it is before Ice Nova in gem links as CoC rotates through the spells attached to it. Once you have a Lycosidae, regret all the accuracy nodes and any travel nodes associated with them and switch over to the above PoB and the info provided with it.

Gems Setups:
6L CoC
Cyclone>Cast on Critical Strike Support>Increased Critical Strikes Support>Hypothermia Support>Frostbolt>Ice Nova
Cast on Critical Strike, and any trigger unless specified, cycles through the Spells in order of linking. You want Frostbolt to spawn first so that your Ice Nova casts on two separate Frostbolts. Once you have a Cospri's Malice, replace Frostbolt for Elemental Focus. Your Hypothermia will gain the damage bonus from Chilled enemies because your Cospri spells will induce the Chill status effect.

Cospri's Malice
Frostbolt>Cold Penetration Support>Ice Nova
Again, Frostbolt first as you want it to go off first so that your Ice Nova's have something to proc off of, doubling their damage. Cold Penetration Support is better for overall clear vs Hypothermia which gives slightly higher damage because Hypothermia requires you to Chill before it gives a benefit. Your Frostbolts will be doing plenty of clearing at the range this way.

Alternate Cospri's Malice set-ups
Frostbolt>Greater Multiple Projectiles Support>Arctic Breath
A second Ice Nova is good damage, however by using this combo you can drop all Frozen Trail jewels and grab more attack speed + % max life jewels which as noted earlier will allow you to get 0.15 attack rate and beyond easier, highly recommended if you are using a Cooldown Recovery option. This set-up has a secondary bonus as well. Arctic Breath + GMP hits a mob 5 times which greatly increases your life gain on hit. Highly Recommended if you only have a spell life gain on hit ring and not a Vitality Watcher's Eye

Movement
Leap Slam>Fortify>Faster Attacks Support>Increased Critical Strikes Support
Your movement skill is completely up to you, Leap Slam is a personal preference. Increased Critical Strikes Support is linked to your movement to trigger Cospri's while moving about. Not necessary just a small quality of life and clear speed improvement. Feel free to put anything else you might want to fit into this.

Ancestral Protector
This skill gives % more attack speed while you are near it, making for an easy way to hit proc rate cap vs single target, double as useful if going for Cooldown Recovery options.

Defensive Links
Blasphemy>Warlord's Mark
This is necessary for leech, Cyclone can be very mana intensive which Mana leech from curse helps with greatly. As well as enabling a good amount of Life leech as it impacts your spells and not just attacks like other sources of leech from the tree. Poacher's Mark is viable, I prefer Warlord's as it grants sustained regen over instant regen. Use this set-up til you have a Warlord's Mark on Hit ring, which will allow you to use Vitality and Vaal Righteous Fire in place of the Blasphemy/

Herald of Purity>Blind Support
This combo is crazy for defense. The Purity summons can take aggro while inflicting Blind which is insanely valuable for Dodge/Evasion based builds. It lowers mobs accuracy by 50%, which while doesn't affect Dodge it does affect your Evasion chance. If a mob bypasses your Dodge, they will roll your Evasion check which if an enemy has Blind it significantly increases your chance to evade. You can drop Herald of Purity once you have Pandemonius if you choose. Allowing you to use Herald of Ice>Onslaught Support which will trigger Onslaught while mapping for faster clear. And more aesthetics.

Cast When Damage Taken lvl 1>Immortal Call lvl 3>Increased Duration>Frost Bomb lvl 10
CWDT + Immortal call is a go to on many classes for the physical damage immunity it provides, very good for those "oh shit" moments when you need to leech back up your life. Works like a charm. Your endurance charges, while mapping, plus Increased Duration make for one meaty physical immune timer. Combining this with Frost Bomb for the -25% cold res to all enemies in it's pulsing radius makes for a big damage boost vs single target that a doesn't melt instantly.

Vitality
Use this after you have a Warlord's Mark on Hit ring. Only after. Combine this with a Vitality Life gain on Hit Watcher's Eye for INSANE life sustain. How this works is that Ice nova hits twice when cast on Frostbolt. Effectively making your first trigger 4 hits[Frostbolt+2 Ice Nova+Cyclone], while your second trigger is 5 Hits[2 Ice nova from Cospri+2 ice nova from 6l+Cyclone], with proper attack speed scaling that is effectively 9 hits every 0.3 seconds. Combining this with your Warlord's Leech and Soul of Arakaali-Queen of the Great Tangle will make for one tanky CoC.

For those going dual wield
War Banner
Drop the Herald of Ice and run this instead as it gives you 40% inc accuracy, which is basically necessary for dual wield as getting enough accuracy[92%+] is incredibly difficult and requires a lot of gear crafting as some options are just not available reliably on market.

Bandits:
Alira - Feel free to switch to Kill All once you fill out your crit multi nodes on tree and have your Resists cap'd through items. The 5 mana regen will hurt, but is only a quality of life component.

Pantheon:
Major God: Soul of Arakaali - Queen of the Great Tangle
Blood Rage + Immortal Call will trigger the 50% increased Recovery Rate of Life from Queen of the Great Tangle. Life Recovery Rate affects not only your leech rate but also affects all sources of Life Recovery such as Life Gain on Hit.

Minor God: Soul of Gruthkul - Erebix, Light's Bane
Reducing Mobs attack speed by 8% is a huge benefit to dodge/evasion based builds as it makes them hit slower which means less hits taken in general. Another substantial defensive boost.

OR Minor God: Soul of Garukhan - Stalker of the Endless Dunes
This soul is focused on gaining movement speed which helps a for clearing and is a nice quality of life boost for cycloning. Every little bit helps. The +5% chance to evade attacks is a flat amount, so say you have 53% chance to evade you now will have 58% chance to evade. Pretty good as well.

3. PoE 3.5 CheeQu's CoC Ice Nova Assassin Builds

This guide will teach you ways to adequately manage a CoC and the way to unleash its full possible. So sit back and delight in as I breakdown every single detail concerning game mechanics, interactions and min-maxing within this all-in-one construct I produced for 3.5.

Offense:
- Up to 7m Shaper DPS
- Amazing clearspeed and Movement Speed

Defense:
- ~8000 EHP @lvl 90
- Fortify Perma Blind combined with some Evasion
- 42% Less Damage of Enemies through Enfeeble with Curse Effectiveness
- 80% Elemental Resistances, 25%+ Physical Damage mitigation with Basalt Flask
- Perma Chill/ Freeze
- 36% Block Chance
- 5% Dodge Attacks and Spells
- Fast and reliable Life Leech combined with ES Gained on Hit
- Life Flask + some Life Regeneration
- And our best defense: Everything dies instantly!

Ascendancy:
Unstable Infusion ⇒ Deadly Infusion ⇒ Opportunistic ⇒ Ambush and Assassinate.

Gems Setups:
- Body Armour: Cyclone - Cast on Critical - Ice Nova - Increased Critical Strikes - Hypothermia - Elemental Focus or Fortify or Concentrated Effect or Increased Area of Effect.
- Cospri's Malice: Frostbolt - Ice Nova - Life Leech.
- Shield: Shield Charge or Leap Slam - Faster Attacks - Fortify.
- Helmet: Blasphemy - Enfeeble - Herald of Ice (replaced with Discipline when we have the Watcher's Eye shown in the gear section) - Phase Run or Decoy Totem or Vaal Righteous Fire or Enlighten.
- Gloves: Cast When Damage Taken (lvl 1) - Immortal Call (lvl 1) - Frost Bomb (lvl 10) - Summon Chaos Golem (lvl 3).
- Boots: Vortex - Bonechill - Unbound Ailments - Arcane Surge (low lvl).

Bandits:
Help Alira. Kill Oak and Kraityn. From this, we get Critical Strike Multiplier, some Elemental Resistances and Mana Regeneration - all of which are very much needed for this build.

Pantheon:
- Major God: Lunaris. Offers useful Physical Damage mitigation and Movement Speed through packs. I also recommend upgrading this god as it offers Dodge and Chance to avoid projectiles.
Solaris is the best defensive option against end-game bosses like Shaper, Elder, Mastermind, Guardians etc. Definitely upgrade this as well when possible.

- Minor God: Gruthkul. More Physical Damage mitigation. Upgrading this god also reduces enemies' Attack Speed when they hit you by 8% (quite a lot!).
Garukhand can be a good alternative for mapping after upgrading it for 6% Movement Speed.
Yugul can also be used against encounters involving Cold Damage such as Elder or Shaper.

Labyrinth Enchantments:
Helmet: 1. 30% Increased Enfeeble Curse Effect (#1 for 99% of cases), 2. 40% Increased Ice Nova Damage (#1 against Shaper, Elder, and their Guardians, Delve Bosses and Syndicate Mastermind, as these have 80% less curse effectiveness so Enfeeble losses value), 3. 100% increased Effect of the Buff granted by your Chaos Golem, 4. 12% Increased Ice Nova Area of Effect.

Boots: 1. Damage Penetrates 10% of Elemental Resistances (offers the most damage but is hard to get), 2. Adds Lightning Damage if you haven't Killed Recently (not far behind in terms of damage actually), 3. Adds Cold Damage if you've been Hit Recently (better damage than the previous one but requires you to get hit), 4. Increased Movement Speed if you haven't been Hit Recently, 5. Regenerate % Life and Mana per second if you were Hit Recently.

Gloves:
1. The commandment of Flames on Hit, 2. The commandment of Tempest on Hit, 3. The commandment of Blades on Hit, 4. The commandment of Winter when Hit.

Leveling Guide:
Levels 1-11: Freezing Pulse - Arcane Surge (lvl 1). Keep Arcane Surge at level 1 for now, as we want it to give the buff with just 1 cast.

- At level 8: Support Freezing Pulse with Added Cold Damage and Added Lightning Damage (keep Arcane Surge for later).
- At level 10: Flame Dash - Arcane Surge (lvl 1).
- Levels 12-44: Switch the main spell to Storm Brand and also pick up Blade Vortex for additional single target DPS. Support these with Added Cold Damage and Added Lightning Damage. It's preferable to have them on separate links.
Also, go for the "Runesmith" node on the passive skill tree for more Brand damage and an additional brand.

- At level 16: Use Herald of Ice and Herald of Thunder.
- Also at level 16: Pick up Brand Recall and link it as Flame Dash - Arcane Surge (lvl 1) - Brand Recall. Brand Recall will bring all the brands to you and activate them. Use it on packs to one shot them, or for single target.
- At level 18: Links for Storm Brand and Blade Vortex changed to:
Storm Brand - Elemental Focus - Controlled Destruction - Added Lightning Damage. Add Onslaught and Lightning Penetration and if you have a Tabula Rasa.

Blade-Vortex - Added Cold Damage - Added Lightning Damage - Controlled Destruction.
- Also at level 18: You can add Faster Casting to your Flame Dash - Arcane Surge - Brand Recall setup.
- At about level 30 and after you complete Siosa's quest, it's a good idea to buy many of the build’s main gems from her to start leveling them up.
- At level 31: Get this 4-link set up to help with single target DPS (remove Blade Vortex): Lightning Spire Trap - Trap and my Damage - Advanced Traps - Added Lightning Damage.
- At level 34: Get Ice Golem (lvl 3) and don't level it more than level 3 as we will use it in our CWDT setup later.
- Also at level 38: Get Cast When Damage Taken (lvl 1) - Immortal Call (lvl 1) - Ice Golem (lvl 3).
- Level 44-100: After 1. Completing the first labyrinth for Power Charge generation, 2. Having a Diamond Flask, 3. Having a weapon with good Critical Strike Chance (Widowmaker is great as suggested earlier) and 4. Having a 4-link item for Cyclone - Cast on Critical Strike - Ice Nova - Increased Critical Strikes you can switch to CoC Ice Nova! You can switch to it later if you want to improve your items some more.

You can start using the build's main gems, but with some differences for now:
- Keep Lightning Spire trap 4-link to help with single target DPS for now.
- If you have a Tabula, use Cyclone - Cast on Critical - Ice Nova - Increased Critical Strikes - Frostbolt (have a Frozen Trail jewel first) - Hypothermia.
- If you have access to a Doedre's Damning ring, switch out your heralds for Blasphemy - Warlord's Mark - Assassin's Mark, or if you don't have the ring, use Herald of Ice and Blasphemy - Warlord's Mark.

In any case, keep leveling Herald of Ice, as we will use it later.
- Ice Golem instead of Chaos Golem since our Critical Strike Chance isn't that great yet.
When you complete the second Ascendancy replace Doedre's Damning with a rare ring (or Gifts from Above if you don't have it yet) replacing Assassin's Mark with Herald of Ice (keep Warlord's Mark). Also, replace Ice Golem with Chaos Golem.
Keep Warlord's Mark until you get your Cospri's Malice, then switch it for Enfeeble.
